Exercise is a hard regimen to get into if you haven’t developed a love for it. We’re all so full of excuses and reasons why we are unable to get our butts off the couch and just help ourselves be healthier. It’s time to stop with the excuses and make time for fitness in your day. We think of exercise too much like work and the thought of work, after a full day of work, makes anyone want to just pull the blanket over yourself and put your favorite TV show on.
It’s not an exercise routine you need. It’s a lifestyle change.
Making time for fitness with pay off in your life. The first thing you have to do is to factor it into your day as though it was something you normally do. You eat, go to work, drive and pay bills all as a part of your normal routine. If you place your workout as part of your daily life, not a task that you can choose to ignore, you have a greater chance of sticking to it. Whether you exercise before your shower, walk around your building on lunch or jump on the treadmill while dinner is in the oven it all means you are doing something best for you. Starting to feel better, without feeling like it’s a daunting task, will help you keep it going.
It doesn’t have to be traditional exercise either. Be like the kids and play for an hour in the yard with them or take the dog for a walk. Whatever is best for you! Good luck!
